Fill out the online form
How to use the Google Form to submit work to the Moraine Valley Community College student art and design competitions.
- Fill in an Entry section for each work you are submitting.
- To submit multiple works simply select "Yes" when asked if you would like to submit another entry and you will be given a new entry form to fill out.
- For example: If you are only submitting one work, fill in the Entry # 1 select "No, I'm done" at the end of the page and you will be taken to the Terms & Conditions section at the end of the form.
If you are submitting between 2 and 10 works, fill in as many entries as needed, and select "No, I'm done" on your final entry to be taken to the Terms & Conditions section at the end of the form.
- For example: If you are only submitting one work, fill in the Entry # 1 select "No, I'm done" at the end of the page and you will be taken to the Terms & Conditions section at the end of the form.
- You can revisit this form at any time if you would like to submit additional works at a later date. Simply navigate to the last entry you made and select "Yes" when asked if you would like to submit another entry and you will be given a new entry form to fill out.
- After your last entry select "No, I'm done" and you will be taken to the Terms & Conditions section at the end of the form.
By filling out the entry form you agree to the rules and regulations for each exhibition below.

Label your work
After completing the online submission form for each artwork you wish to submit, fill-in a JSAE Work Label for each piece and tape it securely to the back or bottom of each piece.

Bring the physical work with label attached to your current Moraine Valley Community College art instructor, or to Erik La Gattuta, the Visual Arts Coordinator (office F248).

Skyway
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Skyway Art Competition is to provide an opportunity for emerging student artists to display their work.
AwardsPlacement awards will be given for outstanding artworks; no cash awards.
SPECIFICATIONS
All 2D work must be properly matted or framed and wired to be hung. Stretched canvases need not be framed but must be wired. All artwork must be able to fit through a standard 36-inch doorway. Also, artwork must be dry and ready for display.
LiabilityEvery effort will be made to ensure proper care and handling of the artwork while present on the host college campus. Only works accepted into the exhibition will be insured while on display at the host school. Instructors should assist students in determining reasonable values for their works. Unless the artist has established a market value, works will be insured for no more than $200 each or the cost of the materials, whichever is greater. The host college or MVCC will not assume responsibility for loss or damage in transit.
ELIGIBILITY
There are no entry fees for entry.
DOCUMENTATION
If the class assignment from which the student submission originates is to copy an artist’s work or create a piece influenced or based on the work of another artist, the appropriate citation must be provided. If the artwork is selected for the exhibition, the host college should include this information on signage identifying the artwork.

League for Innovation
PURPOSEThe League for Innovation in the Community College is an international organization dedicated to catalyzing the community college movement. To that end, the League provides exceptional opportunities for students through the pursuit of projects and ideas that promote innovation and creativity.

- Students whose work is submitted for the international competition will receive a Certificate of Merit and have their artwork published in the League's Student Art Competition catalog, produced by the host college.

- Any student accepted into the League of Innovation art competition must assist with uploading their work to the League for Innovation web portal for the jury process.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- Artworks submitted are selected by students’ local colleges/districts.
- All types of art media are eligible, including 3D work.
- Selected artists may submit 1 digital image for 2D work and 2 digital images for 3D work.
- Specifications on file sizes and types for all media uploads: Image: JPEG or JPG, under 5MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Audio: AIFF, WAV, XMF, MP3, under 10MB with a minimum bit rate of 96. Video: 3PG, WMV, AVI, MOV, ASF, MPG, MP4, M2T, MKV, M2TS, under 100MB with a minimum resolution of 640 x 480; minimum 12 fps.
- Submissions to the international competition are drawn from each student’s portfolio of digital images housed on the CaFÉ online submission manager. Specific file names will not be visible to the jurors or to the International Award Coordinator. Only students’ names and artwork titles will appear in CaFÉ.
CHECKLIST AND DOCUMENTATION
- Check with your instructor for your local college’s entry date and selection process.
- Complete the entry form in its entirety and sign the form.
- The entry form requires a short (50 words or less) written statement regarding the submitted artwork. The statement may address the submitted work, or it may be a more general artist statement. All statements will be published in the Student Art Awards catalog. Proofread your statement prior to submission to your Local Award Coordinator.
- Submit your completed and signed entry form with digital files to your college/district’s Local Award Coordinator. All images must be clear, properly exposed, and set at the required resolution.

Juried Student Art Exhibit (JSAE)
PURPOSE
The annual selection of student work showing the breadth and depth of the Moraine Valley Community College’s emerging artistic talent. The exhibition features 2D and 3D work from across all areas of study including ceramics, design, digital art, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. The accompanying Atrium display will feature designs submitted by students to this year’s exhibition poster and invitation card competition.
MV JURIED STUDENT ART EXHIBIT AWARDS

I understand that if my work is accepted for the College Juried Student Art Exhibit, I am responsible for making my work suitable for display. If it is a 2D work, I must have the work properly matted or mounted or framed with a wire for hanging. 2D works on thick high quality paper and/or designed to not require a mat, may be hung at the jurors discretion. Stretched canvases need not be framed but must be wired. All work must be dry. If I do not meet these requirements, the Art Department is under no obligation to hang my work.

Design Considerations
Design a poster, postcard, and social media graphics for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for the MV Juried Student Art Exhibit.
Understand the exhibit: Exhibit Information: Join us as we celebrate the college’s emerging visual artists. Students submit artwork from across all areas of study including 2D / 3D design, ceramics, design, digital art, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. A guest juror selects best of show, honorable mention, and Agree-to-Degree award to a student graduating that will go into the permanent art collection displayed in the hallways of the Fine & Performing Arts Center.
Design a poster, postcard, and social media graphics for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for the MV Juried Student Art Exhibit.
- Pick a theme or topic of your choice that resonates with our target audience. Use it consistently throughout all design assets.
- Create a meaningful relationship between what is being said (the verbal) and what is being shown (the visual).
- Use appropriate color scheme and a clear sense of visual hierarchy.
- The design can be either type-driven or image-driven.
- The full-time art and design faculty will jury the designs. If your design is accepted the poster will be professionally printed and the social banners will be used on MV social media outlets.
- This is a perfect portfolio piece.
