Art & Design

Visual communication is the most fundamental of human languages. Through the study of art, one acquires a rich understanding of human nature, values, psychology, aesthetics and history. Creative individuals who are visually articulate play profound roles in our increasingly complex visual world, and career opportunities such as art educators, art directors, illustrators graphic designers, studio photographers and film makers, museum and gallery curators, certified art therapists, and as independent studio artists. Programs

SXU offers both major and minor programs in the College of Art and Design.
  • Major in ​Art and Design with four distinct tracks to follow: Graphic Design, Art Education, Studio Art, Art History or 
  • Minor in Art or Graphic Design

Location

Off-campus at 10435 South Spaulding.

Hours

​Students taking SXU Art and Design courses can access the VAC with their student ID's during the following times:
​
Monday: 9 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Wednesday: 9 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Thursday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Saturday: Noon - 9 p.m.
Sunday: 3 - 9 p.m.

Parking / Shuttle

Parking on-site is limited to faculty and staff. Students will be ticketed or towed if they park in the lot or on the street by the VAC.

SHUTTLE SERVICE is provided on a regular basis from the main campus to the VAC during the academic semester. There is special parking on campus for VAC students - get your FREE pass.
