Project Details: Design a self-promotional, artist book - portfolio. 
  • The challenge is to design a package that puts you on the  ‘radar’ of you potential clients. 
  • Define the key concepts or options that you deliver to your client and DESIGN FOR IT.
  • Concentrate your conceptual thinking and creativity. Think outside the box.

Medium: InDesign

Technical
  • # of Pages: 12 minimum
  • Dimensions: ​You decide; depends on your design concept and audience, where you will to print, etc.
  • Color Space: CMYK (for print)
  • Margins: minimum .25"
  • Bleed: You decide
  • Grids: Define grid structure

Design Elements
  • Designed Covers - Front and Back; spine if your book has one. Must include your name, class number, title, and semester.
  • Slide ID:
    • Title (Do not say "project 1" or "untitled", give each work a title)
    • ​Size to be displayed
    • Method of Creation: Type of project - vector illustration, photo composite, layout design, etc)
    • Medium: Software used to create work
    • Date created.
  • Every project you created for this class - can be in any order; you may include other works if you wish
  • Table of Contents (TOC)
  • Business Card

Writing
  • Context for your work; i.e. Your final artist statement for each project.
    • Concise statement about how you fulfilled the design brief using design terminology. 
    • Perfect spelling and grammar - get assistance if you need it.
  • About the artist section - résumé or profile of skills and elevator speech; what makes you different, how do you fill client needs, etc.

Optional Elements
  • Case Study -  Takes us through a project from beginning through completion using language and visuals to highlight problem solving ability..
  • Mock-ups of your work in action!
  • Sketches (only if they are high-quality and showcase your other skills)
  • Testimonials from clients
  • Interactivity such as bookmarks, buttons, slideshows, etc.
  • Online supporting materials: LinkedIn account, website, etc.

Deliverables
  • Final printed version of your project
  • Final packaged file of final project
