Elevator Speech, Due 09.08

  • WRITE an elevator speech. Google the how-to's of writing an elevator speech. HINT: it is as long as taking an elevator one floor distance, i.e, 30 secs.
  • RECORD your elevator speech
  • POST your recorded elevator speech with the transcript to the class blog
  • COMMENT on your classmates "elevator speech"

Hours depend on working environment:
  • internship site for 150 hours (about 9.5 hours /week) OR
  • freelance projects for 225 hours (about 14 hours /week).
So by week 6 you should have worked a minimum of:
  • internship site - 56 hours
  • freelance - 84 hours

This week is our Synchronous Online Meeting using Google Hangouts. Please practice before our meeting so you are ready to use the technology needed for this meeting.

By week 8 you should have worked a minimum of:

  • freelance - 112 hours

  • your cell phone number
  • time-log for hours completed so far
  • gmail email address (if you have not so far)
  • confirmation that you are available to meet on Thursday, 12.14.17 at 8a to give a presentation to the Introduction to Computer Art class in lieu of display 

Please note that if you did not attend the INTERNSHIP FAIR in September this is your only other opportunity to complete this assignment.

Internship Portfolio DUE 12.07.17

Internship Portfolio created in InDesign - package the file for submission - containing:
  • ​Professional materials: Résumé and Cover Letter, Business Card, digital portfolio (screenshots and link to online portfolio) and print portfolio (PDF), general artist / ethic statement (this is your elevator speech)
  • Two-page summary of what you learned from the book readings you completed this semester. (basic font, 11pt, single spaced, .5 margins)
  • Samples of client work organized by client with a signed Memo of Understanding for each client as "chapter headings". 
  • 1-page spreadsheet: include client name, client company, client contact info, freelance or on-site, how many hours you worked at each client per project. Must include total hours worked.
Signed copies of "Memo of Understanding" for each client. 
  • ​Must submit these to the JRC.
  • A​dd a digital copy of each to your final digital submission.
Final Digital Submission
  • ​Submit all of the above in digital format to your professor no later than December 7th. I will put a folder in GROUPS on campus for your final submission.​​​

Here is a folder structure and instructions for what each folder should contain. You have already completed most of this work with the exception of the internship portfolio, simply organize it.
