The Process of Change • Current State of the Art Reception: July 27, 5-9pm
Nature is constantly changing, growing, evolving. As humans and as artists, it is our fated task to change as well. Aesthetic improvements, newly acquired techniques, reimagined visions on an old idea... these are the tools used to address a never-ending work in progress.
Where does it stop? Does it need to?
In this new exhibit at UpFall Art Station, James Miller and Nathan Peck bring us two visions in states of flux. Not unfinished, but not done yet.
James Miller's #muslimban Liberty is a progression poster set protesting the constitutionality of the Supreme Court's recent support of the immigration ban imposed on people from primarily Muslim middle-eastern countries. As a created work, it has seen several iterations that are highlighted in "The Process of Change".
#muslimban Liberty was created alongside and with the help of young Muslim voices in the Chicagoland area, some of which will be performing hip-hop, spoken word and more at the July 27th reception.
Conceived on a long car trip, Current State of the Art began as a vision of grotesque figures, and changed, through version after version into something different, and stranger.
Come see this collection as it continues to evolve day by day until it reaches a new state of being on July 27th.
