Arts Walk
Sunday, September 16 at 10 AM – 4 PM This unique, free event will feature the work of 20+ artists, including several cooperative groups, and will include a peek into artists' studios, yards, garages, alleys and porches....in Pullman, everywhere is a gallery space! Artists include painters, ceramics, film, music, glass, photography, performance, sculpture, fiber arts, random alley art and more. To pick up your map for the walk, visit us on the day of the walk at our PullmanArts display at 11137-49 S. Langley Ave. Ever since George Pullman brought artists and skilled craftspeople from all over the world to work on the construction of the town of Pullman and his Pullman Palace Cars, luxury rail travel & private train cars, in the late 1800's, artists have been drawn to historic Pullman to live and work. Architect Solon S. Beman designed every historic house & public building in Pullman, which are works of art themselves. Pullman is now a National Monument, do not be surprised if you see park rangers in uniform! Free street parking throughout the neighborhood. Exit I-94 at Exit 66A, West on 111th St, left on Langley. Metra Electric trains from Millennium Station to 111th St. – flag stop. For eats: The Pullman Cafe will be open from 10am -3pm. Cal Harbor will be open 6am - 3pm.
